Scope of application

It is important to the Careum Foundation to protect your privacy. Please pay attention to the following points of the Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy applies to all websites of the Careum Foundation (hereinafter referred to as “Careum websites”). For third-party websites to which there is a link from Careum websites, there shall be no guarantee that data protection regulations are being adhered to (see disclaimer in legal notice).

Use of information

In principle, you can visit the Careum websites without providing any personal information. Only non-personal usage data such as your IP address, the last page you visited, the browser you used, the date and time, etc. shall be analysed anonymously in order to identify trends and improve the Careum online service (see “Use of Google Analytics” below). It will not be possible to trace this information back to you.

In certain areas, you will be asked to voluntarily provide data (e.g. name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, information and services of interest, etc.) for the purposes of contacting you.

You will have to provide your details when placing orders or registering online.

No disclosure of information

Your personal data shall not be sold or shared with third parties outside Careum. Exceptions: external service providers handling your enquiry or order on behalf of Careum and processing the data required for this purpose. It is guaranteed that all organisations receiving data shall comply with the data protection and data security requirements.

Cookies

Cookies are used in certain cases. You can configure your browser to prevent cookies from being stored. However, this may mean that you will be unable to use certain services.

Blog

The blogs published at https://blog.careum.ch reflect the personal opinions of the bloggers and not necessarily the views of Careum.

E-mails/E-newsletter

By signing up to the newsletter, you agree that any data provided may be processed for advertising purposes in the course of sending the newsletter.

You can withdraw your consent at any time without giving reasons by clicking on the unsubscribe link contained in each newsletter. If you want to amend your data, you can use the corresponding link in the newsletter.

We use the e-mail marketing software mailworx to send and analyse our newsletters. mailworx records your opening and clicking behaviour. It specifically tracks the following information: time of delivery, time of opening, duration of opening, IP address of opening, e-mail program used (mail client), which link was clicked and the time of clicking.

This data is processed exclusively within the European Union and shall not be passed on to third parties

Storage and security of your data

Careum takes reasonable precautions and uses appropriate security technologies to protect your data. It is only stored for as long as it is necessary for the purpose. As a rule, however, it will be deleted after six months.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Please note that Careum may modify, amend, expand or otherwise update this Privacy Policy from time to time as its services change and to reflect changes in the law. Please consult this policy on a regular basis.

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text files stored on your computer, to facilitate an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by cookies about your use of the Careum website is usually transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, Google will truncate your IP address beforehand within member states of the European Union or other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyse your use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide the website operator with other services relating to website activity and Internet usage. Google will not associate the IP address transmitted by your browser through Google Analytics with any other data held by Google. You may opt out of the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. Please note, however, that if you do this, you may not be able to use the website to its full functionality. You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing data (including your IP address) relating to your use of the website generated by a cookie by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link.
